Eric Bogosian is a Award-winning actor, playwright, and author
Armenia My Friend : You’ve played a good variety of roles in movies. What was your best acting experience?
Eric Bogosian : It would have to be the lead role in “Talk Radio”. I wrote the screenplay and received the Berlin Film Festival Silver Bear for my work. It was life-changing.
AMF : How do you explain the lack of interesting Armenian characters in American fictions?
Eric Bogosian : Saroyan has written wonderful Armenian characters. Also, the central character in Joseph Heller’s “Catch 22″ is Armenian.
AMF : Your research on the “non guilty” verdict of Soghomon Tehlirian by the Berlin court in 1921 and on Operation Nemesis against the Armenian people’s executioners lead you into writing a book. What would be the genre of this book? What would be its strengths?
Eric Bogosian : My book is a non-fiction exposition on the Nemesis assassinations in a historical and cultural context. Many Americans are not only unfamiliar with the Armenian genocide, they are unfamiliar with Armenians altogether. I see my book as an introduction to these topics via an important historical event.
AMF: Does this project already arouse interest? What reactions do you expect?
Eric Bogosian : There has been great interest and support from the Armenian diasporan community both in the United States and Europe. I would hope the reaction will be positive.
